About Us
Hi, my name is Drake, and I'm the founder of Echoing Green Earth.
A Moment of Reckoning
I never planned to start Echoing Green. It began with a simple question that nagged at me one afternoon. As I stared at a growing pile of failed 3D-printed projects on my desk, I wondered: What happens to all this plastic? Can I recycle those failed prints back to filament again?
These questions led me places I hadn't expected. I discovered forests giving way to landfills, oceans suffocating under plastic, and realised how far my own life had drifted from the natural world. We've built a society that values convenience above all else, often forgetting what it costs our planet. The more I learned, the more personal it became. I couldn't look at my work, my home, my habits or the purpose of my life the same way.
I felt overwhelmed, honestly. But I also felt responsible.
Finding My Way Forward
I didn't have a grand plan when I started Echoing Green. The idea came during an ordinary dog walk. Standing atop a hill, I found myself surrounded by trees—some centuries old, some just saplings pushing through the soil. The circle of life unfolded all around me. I felt we needed to reimagine our relationship with stuff – how we bring things into our lives, use them, and eventually let them go.
That's how Eco Rhythm: In – Use – Out was born. Not in a boardroom or focus group, but from my realisation watching how in nature's circle, nothing ever really goes to waste. Everything flows in cycles. Modern living has drifted us away from this natural rhythm that our ancestors followed for centuries.
Some days I still feel like I'm figuring it out as I go. But that's the point, isn't it? Sustainable living shouldn't feel like a rigid ideology – more like a natural rhythm you can slip into.
Why "Echoing Green"?
The name came to me through my partner, who loves William Blake's poetry. In his poem, Blake describes "the echoing green" where children play and elders watch from under oak trees. When I read it, something clicked.
That's exactly what I wanted – not some distant utopia, but a world where people and nature coexist easily, where sustainability isn't a chore but just how things are. A place where life echoes with green.
What We Actually Make
We create practical products for your sustainable living. Our approach is twofold: we offer products made from 100% natural materials that you can simply compost in your garden when they're spent, alongside durable, repairable items designed for longevity and complete recyclability.
Our current range includes:
- Kitchen & Dining
- Home Care
- Personal Care
- Gardening & Outdoor
Look, we won't single-handedly save the planet. But we offer products that align with your values in sustainable living. Each product we offer fits into your life while treading lightly on the earth.
The Promise I'm Making
Echoing Green reflects my own messy journey toward more sustainable living. I'm still learning, still making mistakes, and absolutely don't have all the answers. There are lots of challenges we need to tackle. It's definitely not as perfect as I'd hope for.
But here's what I do know: small changes add up. And they feel bloody good when you make them.
We promise to:
- Be open with you about our products' materials and their packaging
- Keep improving our environmental impact (because we're not perfect yet)
- Push the supply chain to adopt more sustainable practices, particularly the material and packaging
Step by step, day by day, we can shift from mindless consumption to mindful living. We can turn waste into regeneration. We can find our way back to the earth we depend on.
